Friday's football betting tips

Last night's success puts us back where want to be and that's in profit. Certainly this month has started off well with a decent success rate on my picks but I just need to up the profit levels to get the bookie back for last month's loss. Luckily enough England are going to provide us with that opportunity when they take on Montenegro in tonight's desicive qualifying fixture in Podgorica.

England to win against Montenegro?
Fabio Capello's men only require the point but given their impressive away form of late, they have won all 4 away games since the World Cup with an aggregate of 10 goals for and only the 2 against, I can't see them failing to take all 3 points tonight. William Hill are offering odds of 4/5 which is great value especially as Montenegro plan to drop their star players tonight so that they are available for their next game against Switzerland. It won't be that easy though as Montenegro have not lost at home since a 0-1 reverse against Albania back in May 2010 but the Three Lions will come through tonight in my opinion.

The next game to take my fancy is the game between Turkey and Germany in what promises to be a great game of football, particularly given the recent rivalry between the two sides and the fact that Germany boast a pool of Turkish talent in their ranks certainly adds to the spice. Both teams have failed to lose in their last six games so calling a winner will be hard but if pushed I would go for Germany. However, William Hill are offering odds of 10/11 for there to be over 2.5 goals tonight and that has to be snapped up. The last three meetings between the two sides have produced 11 goals so they do have form and both sides have scored 7 goals in their last 3 games, at home for Turkey and away for Germany.

Lastly William Hill go 10/11 that the match between local rivals Finland and Sweden will produce over 2.5 goals and this represents great value. The last time that Sweden failed to score away from home was back in  November 2009 so they should score at least one tonight against Finland, particularly as the reverse fixture between the two sides back in June resulted in a 5-0 win for Sweden. 7 of the 10 meetings in the history of this fixture have also had over 2.5 goals so for near double money the pick has to be taken.

So tonight I have gone for a 0.75pt TRIXIE that returns 12.81pts on the following selections:

  • England to beat Montenegro @ 4/5
  • Turkey vs Germany - Total goals OVER 2.5 @ 10/11
  • Finland vs Sweden - Total goals OVER 2.5 @ 10/11

I shall post Saturday's selections up early tomorrow morning or later this evening if I get some free time. The picks are chosen I just need to write them out and wait for any last minute injury news.
