Manchester: Europa League's new home

Ok so I am kind of not that annoyed that Manchester United went tumbling out of the UEFA Champions League last night at the expense of my profit seeing as they have enjoyed prolonged success and it's nice to see the smaller clubs making headway in the elite competitions.

However, Manchester United are in a worrying state of decline this season and when you look at their fellow Manchester Europa League contestants City and their squad then you can only worry for Sir Alex Ferguson and my pre-season tip for them to win the English Premier League.


It could prove to be beneficial to United, and indeed City, to be knocked out the Champions League at this stage as they will no doubt use their fringe players in the Europa League and will therefore be fresher for the title challenge.


On the other hand playing Thursday, Sunday, Thursday, Sunday might just prove to be a tricky stumbling block which City's squad will no doubt handle better than United. Either way it's going to be an interesting title race between the two clubs between now and May.


For tonight I am taking a little punt seeing as my so-called safer bets haven't been paying off this week.

• Poli Timisoara to beat Gaz Metan Medias @ 23/20 - Romanian Cup
• Dynamo Bucharest vs Petrolui Ploeesti - Total goals OVER 2.5 @ 7/10 - Romanian Cup

We best start turning it around otherwise we will find ourselves doing the Manchester and leaving the competition early.
