What a day yesterday on the old tennis betting front! I shouldn't get too excited by this tennis stuff given that football is my main forte but I just couldn't help myself yesterday! It was indeed a successful day, however, given that my 1st round picks finally got to finish their games and Dominika Cilbulkova's tough win against Mirjana Lucic sealed a 9 for 9 success on the large accumulator bringing home 23.07 points profit which of course made The Canary a happy little bird indeed.

It was, however, the success of Laura Robson that was the highlight of the day from an English point of view and her tough victory will stand her in good stead going forward in her career. A match against Maria Sharapova awaits in the next round and she is up against someone the bookies rate as a 1/33 on winner. Tough, tough game but a valuable learning experience nonetheless.


Finally, a special congratulations goes to Kimiko Date-Krumm for taking Venus Williams all the way on centre court yesterday. Is she 40? On that evidence I'd be asking for a steward's enquiry.


Back to the football and there was no joy yesterday and to be fair it was my own fault for taking too many close calls. Today, however, I hope to regain some points back on the few games that are about. My one and only bet for today is a 0.75pt TRIXIE that returns 11.83pts on the following selections:
