King Kun + Betting tips for 16th August

All hail the new saviour of the English Premier League, Sergio 'Kun' Aguero!

Did the English Premier League need a saviour? Well according to Mr Stan Collymore on TalkSport Drive last night apparently we did. The Premier League has gone down in quality over the recent years and we can no longer attract world class players to the league. Well a certain Mr Aguero soon changed Stan's mind last night and who can argue with that? What a debut from a player who could use any excuse over the coming months for taking his time to settle, homesick, pace of the game etc

However, within a 30 minute cameo Sergio Aguero ripped Swansea to shreds, scoring 2,  making one for David Silva in the process and generally made a mockery of that old theory that foreigners need time to settle in the English Premier League. Ok so he will no doubt find the going tough at times this season but when you are as good as he is those issues rarely make a lasting difference. The bookies are worried, his odds were immediately slashed from 12/1 to 3/1 to be top goal scorer in the Premier League this season. I doubt that he will be the top scorer, as Manchester City will need to rotate their squad regularly, but he will no doubt be there or thereabouts.

As for The Canary last night, a late David Elm goal gave Elfsborg a 3-2 home win against IFK Goteborg to give us another 8.52pts profit to take our total profit for August to 32.53pts and that certainly puts a smile on my face. However, never bet on tilt, and that includes a positive one as you still need to stick to the basics. Looking towards today's games I can tell that tonight will be a tricky one to negotiate but hopefully we can still return a profit. I've gone for a two pronged attack tonight to try and ensure that we take home profit from the bookie.

My main bet is a simple 2.5pt DOUBLE that returns 8.64pts on the following bets:

  • Crystal Palace to beat Coventry City @ EVENS - nPower Championship
  • Sheffield United to beat Walsall @ 8/11 - nPower League 1

In addition to the above I shall be placing a separate 1.5pt TREBLE that returns 9.90pts on the following bets:

  • BATE Borisov to beat Sturm Graz @ 5/6 - UEFA Champions League
  • Watford vs West Ham - Total goals UNDER 2.5 @ 4/5 - nPower Championship
  • Bournemouth to beat Stevenage @ EVENS - nPower League 1

A 1pt ACCUMULATOR returns 22.80pts for all 5 selections to be correct and that takes our total outlay today to 5pts.

I have gone for two separate bets above as we are still in that awkward stage of a season whereby the teams have yet to settle down and mould into consistent outfits. You will regularly see teams lose their first two games and then go away to a team that have made a perfect start themselves only to upset the odds by snatching a 1-0 win. The divisions are tight as it is so when you add into the added factor that the squads have yet to be completed and you can see the minefield for what it is.

That's why a two pronged attack will hopefully return us a profit, the DOUBLE is my main bet tonight and carries the extra confidence, hence the 2.5pt stake, but I'm still confident that my secondary TREBLE bet will still reap some rewards.

Good luck all,
