On or off?

Today's biggest talking point, in terms of football, is whether or not this weekend's games will go ahead following the riots that have gripped the country over the past few days. Obviously the issue of the rioters and the safety of the population is the most important issue but I want to keep the focus on the effect that it will have on my potential to make money this weekend.

When studying a game for betting purpose you obviously have the form guide and relevant statistics to look through and consider when making a pick. However, you also have things like injuries and suspensions which you have to take into account when putting money on a game but these are quite common and most tipsters are obviously aware of these. Occasionally you may have to take other factors into account like boardroom dramas, financial problems and possibly player revolts but these once again are nothing new and therefore you can factor their effect into your final decisions.

However, the riots are something that I personally haven't dealt with and no doubt the players haven't either. Ok so in theory the events around the country should not affect the players, and indeed the team's performance in general, but the uncertainty over to whether the game will be played or not will no doubt disrupt players focus coming up to this weekend. This will need careful attention over the next few days and it's something that I will need to take into account when picking my weekend tips.

Anyway, we are not there yet and after our good form came to an end last night with only 2 out of 5 selections correct it's important to maintain our profit levels (currently 20.33pts for August) and indeed keep increasing them where possible.

Today I have gone for a 2.5pt TREBLE that returns 11.05pts on the following selections:

  • Bristol Rovers vs Watford - Total goals OVER 2.5 @ 10/11 - English Carling Cup
  • Turkey to beat Estonia @ 2/7 - International friendly
  • Lithuania to beat Armenia @ 4/5 - International friendly

Here's hoping to some normality for the next few days!
