Stalls set

It's Monday and therefore it's the time for reflection and after the 1st weekend of the new nPower season, along with the Community Shield, one thing for sure is that it’s certainly good to have decent football back on our screens!

I'm also confident that my tip for the Barclays Premiership title, Manchester United, will come good after watching them tear apart big spending rivals Manchester City at Wembley yesterday afternoon. Big signings, young talent coming through the ranks and the best manager around in Sir Alex Ferguson, what can go wrong?

Although if you thought that Nani's 1st goal was a well taken goal then have a look at this one that I found via talksport.co.uk earlier this morning:

As for my tips this weekend, well we returned a profit so that's always a good thing but it's hard to not feel slightly disappointed given the fact that we were 3 for 3 after Friday and yet only managed to finish the weekend with 6 correct selections from my original 12. Ok so this returned a profit of 2.6pts which takes our total profit for August to 17.93pts but it's slightly frustrating that some shock results cost us a bumper payday. Hats off to Colchester though, a great result away at League 1 promotion hopefuls Preston North End and Watford battled to a 2-2 draw away to Eddie Howe's Burnley and deserve credit for that. Those two results along with Huddersfields failiure to beat Bury at home made it a very tough start to the UK football season indeed.

However, I am not too worried about these results as the first few games of the season always prove tricky to judge and once the teams settle down a bit we should see better opportunites to make money going forward.

Speaking of which it's a new day and there's new matches of football to keep us occupied. There isn't much about tonight but I have found a DOUBLE that pays out 9.90pts for a 2.5pt stake on the following selections:

  • GIF Sundsvall to beat Landskrona @ 4/6 - Swedish Superettan
  • AGOVV Apeldoorn vs Cambuur Leeuwarden - Total goals OVER 3.5 @ 11/8 - Dutch Jupiler League

A good win tonight will really put us in a strong position for this month.
