Monday night's football betting tips

A rather quiet weekend by my usual standards but that will be changing today with four selections taking my fancy which is unusually high for a Monday, particularly as there not that many fixtures to choose from in the first place. That said it's about quality and not quality and I believe that there is some brilliant value on offer today.

I start with the Serie B fixture between Brescia and Pescara and I am going for a slightly riskier selection of Brescia to win AND there be 3 goals or more in the game. William Hill are offering odds of 6/5 that this will be the case and despite both clubs sitting on 16 points after 9 games I believe that Brescia's home form will see them through tonight.

Brescia to win a high scoring match?
Brescia have scored 2 goals in all 4 home games this season conceding 3 in the process whereas Pescara's 4 away games have produced 18 goals so I can definitely see goals tonight. Although Brescia haven't won in 3 games, and Pescara haven't lost in their last 3, hence the risk element, I do see them being victorious tonight as they have won 3 of their 4 home games so far and Pescara have lost of 3 of their 4 away games. The previous 8 meetings between the two sides have produced 30 goals which works out at 3.75 per game with Brescia last losing the fixture back in 1999.

My second selection is for Fortuna Sittard to beat Telstar in the Dutch Jupiler League with William Hill offering odds of 6/5. Telstar are languishing in 16th in the division and have lost all 4 of their away games so far this season conceding 14 goals in the process. Fortuna Sittard have won 3 of their 4 home games this season, drawing the other one, and have scored 13 goals in the process so there will definitely be goals tonight. Fortuna Sittard should hopefully pip this fixture and I will be back them accordingly.

Moving to Denmark now and league leaders travel to Horsens and William Hill are offering odds of 5/6 that they will be victorious this evening. FC Copenhagen have won 9 of their 11 fixtures so far this season, drawing the other two and have won all 5 of their away games so far. Horsens did beat OB Odense in their last home fixture but had lost their previous two, including a 3-0 loss to FC Copenhagen themselves so this bodes well for profit to be made tonight.

Last up is the Swedish Allsvenskan fixture between Malmo, unbeaten in their last 7 games, against Syrianska FC who have only lost once in their last five games. William Hill are offering odds of 4/5 that 5th placed Malmo will beat Syrianska and that kind of value needs to be snapped up right away. Syrianska have failed to score in 64.3% of their away games this season and Malmo have a clean sheet rate of over 30% across the season. Although Syrianska did beat Halmstad 1-0 in their last away game Malmo have not lost at home in the league since May 2011 and Syrianska have only won two of their 14 away games in the Allsvenskan so far and have failed to even score in 9 of those games.

So to clarify I have 4 selections today and I will place them in all possible combinations of 1pt TREBLES with a single 1pt FOURFOLD that brings a maximum potential return of 48.02pts for the 5pts place. I need three out of four to make a profit.

  • Brescia to beat Pescara AND the match to have OVER 2.5 goals @ 6/5 - Italian Serie B
  • Fortuna Sittard to beat Telstar @ 6/5 - Dutch Jupiler League
  • FC Copenhagen to beat Horsens @ 5/6 - Danish SAS-Ligaen
  • Malmo FF to beat Syrianska FC @ 4/5 - Swedish Allsvenskan

Let's hope for a good start to the week.
